Mountain Fortress - Bricklink LEGO 910029
"Black Falcon used to be a powerful baron of the Old Kingdom. After the Lion Knights took control of the kingdom, it was agreed that Black Falcon's daughter Kunegund would marry the king. However, when the baron fell in a knight's duel, these plans fell through and the king married another baroness. However, Kunegunda decided to take matters into her own hands...
A few years ago, Kunegunde, together with a younger sister who was the royal falconer, managed to secretly organize the kidnapping of the king while he was out hunting. Now the king is secretly held in a remote and inaccessible mountain fortress while Kunegunde prepares for a winter campaign against the queen."
What makes the design of this massive fortress stand out is the harsh winter scenery including snow caps and icicles. It consists of a lower and an upper castle, connected by a drawbridge that spans a frozen moat.
The construction is quite extensive and uses only a little more than the maximum allowed 4000 parts. The construction is foldable and includes removable parts that allow easy access to all parts of the interior. Greebling and texturing is used sparingly. Building shouldn't be much of a challenge, but even advanced builders will find some nice and unexpected details and techniques here, including the use of Technic pieces in both structural and decorative roles.
Includes 9 minifigures.
